I am beyond thrilled to see the Santa Barbara Children’s Library open today. We had lots of fun at the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting at the downtown public library. Camille and Tripp really loved the big scissors. The whole bottom floor of the library is now clean, fresh and new and all for children. There is an area for story time and music, there are play areas and new computers. The kids are going to love this new library for many years to come. This project is close to my heart. During my 8 active Junior League years our focus was improving youth literacy in Santa Barbara. Our new member group project was giving an update to the East Side branch of the Santa Barbara public Library and then the whole membership voted to devote our time to the downtown library. This project took many years and dollars and it is nice to see it finally open. I am a Sustaining Junior League member now and the focus area has since changed to human trafficking for the Junior League but it is nice to see it completed. Head over to the downtown library and check out the new digs.
